How to run Windows, Linux on Intel-based iMac, Mac Mini, MacBook or MacBook Pro?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

1. Download Parallels Desktop for Mac, and run it.

2. Create a virtual machine by clicking Create VM in the main screen. The first option is recommended and create a virtual machine in white with the default settings. The second option of "custom VM configuration allows you to select the operating system, memory allocation and create a new virtual hard disk. To me, choosing the second option is very intelligent allocation memory and hard disk size / type are the two important factorsin terms of performance when it comes to virtual machines.

3. Choose an operating system that you want. Not only for Windows, you can run all versions of Linux on this, or even run out-of-date operating systems like OS / 2, Windows 3.1, 95, 98 and others.

4. Memory allocation. Now you can specify the amount of memory that was allocated for this virtual machine. 512 is common for computers. You can also assign 256 MB or 768 MB or 1.5 GB But do not give it 32MB, or64MB, as Windows does not work. In general, the more RAM you assign to the VM, the faster is slower and your host operating system (Mac OS) will, as is shared with the virtual machine. So if you plan to use Parallels more often provide a large amount of RAM in your computer for an optimal experience.

5. Select Hard Drive. The virtual machine needs some form of storage so that the operating system to install. If you do not want to add a hard drive now, select "Do not adddisc.

6. Here you can set the size, can be any number you want, as long as the hard disk has enough space. There are two types of virtual disks, expansion and plain. I chose plain as the assistant said he was very fast.

7. Here you can specify where you want the virtual hard disk, which must be preserved. You can place on a network share on an external hard drive, memory stick, either. For best performance, keep it on a hard drive.

8. Network selection. There are threetypes of networks to choose. The first allows full access to the Internet, both directly and OS X. The second creates a link between OS X and isolated guest operating system. The third turns any network access. I chose the former.

9. You choose which card network in real life you want to be tied to Parallels. The connection of the boot option cable means that you mean the NIC in Parallels virtual machinecable is permanently connected, or, if this option is unchecked, you can manually set in Parallels, when you connected the cable virtual network.

10. Finally, it gives a name (eg Windows XP) and virtual machine was created successfully.

Will change the mode of operation with Microsoft Windows Vista?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The world eagerly awaits the final version of Windows Vista to be on the market. Speculation is widespread, so the output will be in late December 2006 or the end of January 2007, and Microsoft will keep its promises.

While supporters believe that the next Windows operating system is Windows Vista in the world there are those who think that Windows Vista leaves much to be desired. Magazines, electronic journals, forums and blogs are all in a ferment with Vista news, views andcomments.

A thorough examination in Computer World by Scott Finnie Windows Vista as its primary objective is safety and security you can get without paying for an expensive operating system. The only other addition is the glass and Aero graphics capabilities. According to Finnie, "Windows Vista will not exceed Mac OS X Tiger for overall quality and usability."

Mac users who have experimented with the release of Windows Vista are not tempted and excitement and sensationthat even the highly promoted new interface is a Mac OS X look-alike. The similarities are striking, and because Mac users have enjoyed the bling "for over five years, the candy offered by Vista are neither new nor exciting.

As for business users are interested in a lot less to worry about security and data loss and so on for the theft of cybercrime. Vista has features and again, which will increase business productivity, efficiency and profitability.

Microsoftexpects companies to upgrade to Vista upon release and the company has established a "plan" bullish marketing. However, analysts predict that companies will probably not be in a rush and wait until late 2007 - early 2008 before considering an overhaul of its computer systems and installation of Windows Vista.

Analysts at research firm IDC estimates that after the first shot on sale in about 18 months, the adoption curve will emulate any other Windows product. In factconsumer surveys conducted by Computerworld third in August 2006 revealed that 17% of professionals around should consider installing Windows Vista in the first year of its release, 41% had no intentions of all and 35% had undertaken trials of time after release.

Jon Oltsik, Enterprise Strategy Group found that "Vista is a better operating system than XP, but according to many managers Linux would be a wise choice because it has features andaffordable, only 10% of the price of Microsoft. "

Most of the advice of a guru "wait and see" strategy. Only when the world starts using Windows Vista will be bug every day and delights emerge and it will be clear if the operating system Windows Vista is ready to become emperor of the PC world.

Is it safe to Apple Mac really more of a Windows machine?

This is a Macintosh Apple really more secure than Windows, or is it just a mistake?

The truth, as far as I can see is that there are security problems much less for Mac OSX.

Is the car the less targeted Apple because it is inherently safer yet?

My take on is that computers running Windows are asked most often, simply because they have a much broader base of users.

Contrary to what some might have you believe, your Mac is notcompletely free from various threats that arise on the Internet today.

For my part I think the landscape is changing and that the Mac will be targeted more often in the future as the popularity continues to grow.

Remember also that the demographics of the community of hacking and cracking have changed. Malware is more about teenagers Lonely pimply face more.

The latest online threats come from much larger group of on-linecriminals.

Spam, viruses and other malicious software are now big business and the profit potential is enormous. These people have the time and resources to diversify into other markets, including Mac Arena

After all, if you write a Trojan for the Windows machine and then the difficulty would be to change to influence an Apple Mac? The number of potential benefits are enormous and growing Macs in use, it is worth.

Times change and I foresee a future that includes aincreasing the volume of malicious code that targets the Mac. Are you ready for this?
